This wine bears the name of Beppe's eldest son, Mattia, used in its Latin form 'Matthias'. The vineyards consist of two medium-sloped hills both located in the village of Neive.
Nebbiolo is picked usually in the last week of October. Fermentation occurs over 15 days in temp controlled tanks with Maceration 10-15 days post -fermentation with submerged cap. Ageing is 18 months in large format Slavonian oak and the wine is unfiltered.
The colour is ruby red with garnet nuances. Lifted aromas of dried red cherries, strawberries and raspberries, with notes of pomegranate and iodine. The palate is balanced and delicate, with silky, polished tannins intertwining with assertive acidity typical of hand made Nebbiolo.
