Born from the Volcano
At 800 metres above sea level the Vadiaperti estate sits on the border of two of Campania's most important DOCG's, Fiano di Avellino and Greco di Tufo in the heart of the Irpinia. The high altitude vineyards in the Avellino area of Campania are influenced by the volcanic activity of Mount Vesuvius and other ancient volcanic formations. These soils contribute to the distinctive minerality, complexity, and structure of the wines, giving them a unique character.
A trained chemist, Raffaele Troisi (son of the late Antonio) has worked at the family estate since the early 1990's. The winemaking history goes back centuries, firmly rooted in the region's unique volcanic territory and history. He is a thoughtful and articulate man, who makes wines with precision, flavour and a true sense of place. The wines are fantastic-benchmark, pure examples of the local varieties-delicious young, but with ageing develop beautifully.
